Creating a happy, caring and safe environment, requires us to:
1. Ensure the Diocesan Safeguarding Policies and Procedures are implemented.
2. Identify the activities within the Parish in which children and vulnerable adults are involved. This includes non -Parish groups and individuals who use Parish premises.
3. Ensure that the adults responsible for Parish activities are vetted, abide by the Down and Connor Safeguarding Procedures, adhere to a code of conduct and attend Safeguarding Training.
4. Require non - Parish/ commercial groups to state that they comply with the above requirements.
5. Guide individuals and groups in the best practice for recruitment and selection of staff and volunteers.
6. Ensure that staff and volunteers, children, young people, adults and their families / carers know what to do if they suspect that abuse has taken place or have an allegation of abuse disclosed to them.
