Kilmore & Killyleagh Parishes
The Most Rev. Dr. Patrick Walsh, Bishop of the Diocese of Down and Connor after consultation with Very Rev. Canon Dominic McHugh PP. Kilmore determined that the Parish of Kilmore would be divided into the Parishes of Kilmore and Killyleagh. The Division took effect on and from Thursday 11th August 1994. Fr. Sean Cahill was appointed to be Killyleagh’s first Parish Priest in the new parish.

The boundry lines of the new Parish of Killyleagh
shall incorporate the town lands
of:
Killyleagh
Mullagh
Corbally
Commons
Tullykin
Ballytrim
Ardigon
Tullyveery
Rathcunningham
Moymore
Shrigley

And will be bounded on the North by the Parish of Sainfield, West by Parish of
Kilmore, East and South by Strangford Lough
